Six Ingredient Fudge

This by far one of the easiest recipes for fudge that I've ever used. I thought I'd share this recipe with you. It's actually more of a method than a recipe, because I go by eye with pretty much everything. Anyway, here it is:

You Will Need:

1-12 oz Package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (Do NOT use milk, as it will be way too sweet)

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 Pinch of Salt

3/4 cup chopped nuts (I like walnuts; you can also use mini marshmallows)

Here's what you do:

Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper

Turn your stove on low heat

Add your chocolate chips and condensed milk to a medium-sized pan

Stir the mixture until it melts completely.

The mixture will look like this:

Now, make sure to take the pan off the stove for the next steps:

Add in all of the powdered sugar. It will take a while to mix, but don't worry, it'll all mix together eventually.

Tip: Sift the powdered sugar into the pan to make mixing easier.

Once mixed, it will look like this:

Now it's time to add the vanilla:

Now, add the salt...

And finally, stir in the walnuts...

Next, transfer to your lined pan, and try to smooth it out as possible with a wooden spoon.

But some things can't be fully done with a spoon, so dip your hands in some water...

And smooth it out with your hands...

Now comes the hard part...cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate it. I'm not really sure how long to do it, because I always make it at night and refrigerate it overnight, so just feel it.

I forgot to photograph the next part, but all you have to do is transfer the parchment paper to a cutting board and cut the fudge into pieces. This stuff is pretty rich so I'd suggest small pieces.

Tip: When cutting your fudge, dip the knife in hot water.

Quick Tip: How to Go to a Blocked Website

Long time no see! Anyways, I have a little tip for you guys, although many of you probably already know it. Basically, we all know that our school/work servers don't allow websites such as YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook. (BTW, if you clicked on any of those links at school/work, they probably wouldn't work for you). Anyways, this tip is really simple. All you gotta do is change the "http://" to "https://" For example, if you want to go to YouTube, simply type in https://www.YouTube.com (always make sure to add the "www," because otherwise it probably won't work). So, that's all you have to do. It should solve the problem for most people. If not, I have other methods which I will share if asked. Hope you enjoy! Happy surfing!

More Artwork with Paint.NET

So, I haven't updated in a while...here are a few creations I made using Paint.NET, which you can download by clicking here. If you don't know what Paint.NET is, look it up :) I made them because I wanted new images for my YouTube videos (although I haven't updated that much, either) and I was sick of using other people's images, so I created my own; I have a different image for each color, and they can easily be used as backgrounds. Each creation was made 100% by me. Each image is 1600×900 pixels, so click on them to get the full image. The only ones I borrowed images for were flames for the orange one and the water for the green one. Let me know your favorite.

Creating Stewie with Paint.NET

So I made this for a YouTube contest using a software similar to Photoshop called Paint.NET (Click here to download)...I like it because my laptop doesn't have enough RAM to support Photoshop without running slowly, and Paint.NET doesn't do that. Anyway, here's a real pic of stewie:

Here's how I recreated him

First, I created the football-shaped head using the line/curve tool and added the ears.

Next, i created different strands of hair with the line/curve tool. Just copying and pasting one strand will not work; you have to do each strand individually. I also created the inner part of the ears with the line/curve tool.

Next I created an eye with the circle tool and line/curve tool, then replicated it. I then created eyebrows and a nose with the line/curve tool

Next I create the mouth by making 3 separate, slightly curved lines

...and colored it in...

Next was the body...first I had to expand the canvas size, then I started drawing the right arm and drew the hand, which I did by making a curved line for his arm and curved lines for his fingers and thumb...his hands were some of the hardest things

Next I made another curved line for his legs and some curved lines for his shoes...his shoes were also really difficult to get the right shape...I think it took me 9 or 10 times to get it right

Next came his other leg, arm, and hand...the pointing finger was extremely hard to achieve.

Now came the two round suspender thingys (idk what they're called)

then the straps...

then all that's left is to color it in...I used a picture of Stewie and the color picker to pick up the color to make sure it was precisely the same.

Last, I made a white background and drew 3 circles with the ellipse tool and wrote "Victory is Mine!" with the text tool...and that's it!

How To: Feature Other Channels on Your YouTube Page

This is just a really quick tip. You'll notice a lot of YouTube channels have a little box like this:

This is really easy to do. All you have to do is log in to your Youtube. At the top right, you'll see your username with a downward arrow next to it. Click on it and click "My Channel."

Now you'll be redirected to your channel.

Right above your videos will be a bar with 5 options: Post Bulletin, Settings, Themes and Colors, Modules, & Videos and Playlists...Click on "Modules"

Now it'll open up a box with checkboxes. Check the box next to "Other Channels" then click "Save Changes"

Now scroll down. There will be a box that says "Other Channels" Click "edit" to the right, then enter the desired title and the names of the channels that you want to feature. Then click "Save Changes"

Now your featured channels will look like this (a lil different depending on what you enter):

So I found this cool application called Paint.NET (click here to download it). It's kind of like photoshop, which I took a class on in first semester of 9th grade. Anyway, here is what the image looks like (click the picture for a larger image):

How To: Extract Audio from a YouTube Video

Here is just a really quick tutorial I have for you. It's pretty self-explanatory.

(Note: These images are kind of small and hard to follow. If necessary, click on them to enlarge them)

Okay, so all you're gonna do is find the video that you want. Make sure that the video has no intro or outro; it's purely the song. Also check to see if its lyrics are explicit or not. So, find the song you want.

Now find the url of the video

and copy it.

Now, there's only one website, and I'd advise you to put it in your favorites:

That website is OnlineVideoConverter.com

When you visit the page, it will look like this:

Click Audio Converter, and you will be redirected to a page that looks like this:

Now paste the YouTube video URL where it says Paste your url below:. There will be a link there already. Just click over it to clear it. Then click Download. The page will now look like this:

Choose which audio format you would like (the most common is MP3, and I'd suggest 192k for higher quality) and click Convert. The page will now look like this:

...then like this:

...and then like this:

...and finally, like this:

Now click Get. This will download the song to your computer

If you have Google Chrome (You can download it here), you can click on the arrow to the right of the download and click Show in folder.

Then rename the file.

Now go to your media player and find the song. (It will usually have the name of the original file, not what you renamed it as)

Now all that's left to do is input the correct information (You can usually find the album info online)

And that's it! It really only takes a matter of minutes. Hope this was helpful.

So I decided that since I love music so much, I would make a bunch of lyric videos. Here they are. If you have any requests for a lyrics video where the lyrics are actually in the video instead of just in the sidebar (because anyone can do that). If you have any requests for a lyrics video, please let me know; leave me a comment on this blog post or message me on my YouTube Channel (http://www.YouTube.com/avmist159). It's a good addition to your website or whatever. Just make sure there isn't a lyrics video like that already up for that song; that's just a waste of my time.

Windows Movie Maker Have the Wrong Time Length of a Song? How to fix it

If you've ever used Windows Movie Maker, this has probably happened to you. You go to import a song...

and when you import it, it gives you a different time length...

Now as you can see, there is quite a difference in the length of the song between when you locate the file...

...and when you import it...

When I clicked Import Media and located the file, it said the Length was 03:58, however when I actually imported it, it said the Duration or Length was 12:25. The cause of this is that there are different bit rates throughout the song, but Windows Movie Maker automatically assumes it has the same bit rate throughout the entire song based on the highest bit rate in the song. What this does to your movie is slows down or speeds up everything else.

Anyway, you probably don't care about the cause; you just care about the solution, so here goes. What you need to do in order to solve this problem is to keep the bit rate constant throughout the entire song. You will just need one website to keep in your bookmarks. You'll need to find a media converter where you can set advanced options. The one I suggest is the one on http://www.MediaConverter.org/. The thing about this one is the online version is very simple to use, however you may only do five conversions a day. You can search for another converter than can do more than one. For this demo, I'm just going to use the one on http://www.MediaConverter.org/. What you need to do is make sure you know where the song's file is. If you have it in your Windows Media Player library, all you have to do is go to the song, right-click it, and click Open File Location. It will open up the location with the file highlighted. If it's easier, drag it to the desktop temporarily.

Now for converting. On the Media Converter website, it should have a "conversion wizard" that looks like this:

Now click upload a file.

And find the file...

Now click ok in the conversion wizard and go to the next step

Now choose whichever file type the song is (most likely MP3) under Select an output file type and make sure I want to set advanced options is checked.

...and click ok.

Now it will give you more options...

Now under Audio bitrate, choose the bitrate you want. The higher the bitrate, the higher quality the sound, but the more memory it will take up...

Now click ok then start. It will look like this...

As you can see, under Status, the bar fills up. Once converted, it will look like this...

Now click download.

Once downloaded, it should be in Documents > Downloads. If not, on Google Chrome, you can click on the arrow to the right of the file and click Show in folder or in File Explorer, search for the song. For me, it was a lot easier just to drag it onto the desktop.

Now let's try importing the song into Windows Movie Maker.

Click Import Media and then find the file...

and click Import

Now let's compare the lengths...

Here's when you locate the file...

And when it's imported...

When I clicked Import Media and located the file, it said the Length was 03:58, and when I actually imported it, it said the Duration or Length was 03:58. We now have a match.

And I know this blog post made the process seem a lot longer than it actually is. In total, it only took about one to two minutes to convert the song and add it into Windows Movie Maker. It obviously took longer to make all these screen shots and uploads, but it doesn't take much time to actually upload the file, convert, download, and import.

How To: Make a Default Application (For Vista Users)

Let's say you downloaded RealPlayer and you want Windows Media Player as your default player, or you downloaded Firefox and want Google Chrome as your default Web Browser. Here's how to do so.

First, open Control Panel

You'll notice on the left-hand side there is a column that has two options on the top; Control Panel Home and Classic View. Click Classic View.

Now it will look like this...

There will be an icon called Default Programs. Double-click on it.

Now your window will look like this...

Click the first option, which says Set your default programs

Now all that's left to do is set which programs you want as your default. For example, let's say I want Google Chrome as my default browser. I'd just click Google Chrome under Programs.

Then, under the description of the program, I would click Set this program as default.

Then click OK

And that's all there is to it. You can do this to change your media player, your messenger, etc.

How To: Keep shoes white longer

I decided to do a product of the week on my blog. My product for this week is

It comes in an aerosol can and all you have to do is put it at least a foot away from you (you do NOT want to inhale this stuff) and a foot away from your shoe and spray...

Here I'm just spraying them on my brand new JORDANS!!! Yup, you're jealous! LOL

Anyway, what this does is repel any dirt or water. It says on the can that you should let it dry for 2-3 hours, but that's not completely necessary; for example I just sprayed it, got ready, and headed out the door in about 10 or 20 minutes, and that's how long it took to dry.

So that's about it. This product works really well. My last pair of shoes were soooo worn out, but they were still really white. Anyway, that's about it.

And something you should know about Nike shoes...

If your shoes do not last a year, send the shoes back to Nike with the box and receipt and they will send you back a new pair of shoes that are the most recent of that model. That's their guarantee. I've never had to do that, but my brothers have done that many times.

How To: Stop BlackBerry Desktop Manager from Appearing on Startup

I have BlackBerry Desktop on my computer and it would always open on startup, freeze, and slow my computer down. So here's how to stop it from loading on startup.

All you gotta do is go to Start then Run

Now, type in MSConfig and then OK

For Vista users it may say Windows needs your permission to continue so just click Continue.

Now you'll get a window that looks like this

Go to the Startup tab and scroll down until you find something that says Desktop Toolbar...

Uncheck that (for my case, I have two boxes that should be unchecked)

Now if Windows shows a message saying you need to restart the computer in order for the changes to be made, go ahead and restart the computer. This time, Blackberry Desktop Manager shouldn't show up on startup.

PS3 vs. Wii

Now, I have done a lot of research on these two. I don't have a Wii, however I do have a PS3 (well, actually it's my 27-year-old brother's). My brother said the PS3 is better, but I have heard numerous times that the Wii is better, plus it's cheaper. So, I put it to the test:

All right, let's look at the Pros and Cons of the PS3

(and I'm only going to point out the pros and cons that the other system don't have)

Can play Blu-Ray

Backwards compatability to PS and PS2 games
Connection to PSP for even more games

Wireless controllers can be charged rather than having batteries replaced

All right, now let's look at the Pros and Cons of the Wii

(and I'm only going to point out the pros and cons that the other system don't have)

In my experience with wii (which isn't very much), at first, it seems kind of hard to get used to the navigation, and I never played many games that involved motion, but at first I thought the Wii would be better, until I tried it. I think the lack of graphics kind of ruins the quality of the game. Again, I don't have much experience with the Wii, but I did a bunch of "research" on it to see which console comes out on top. So let's tally it up.

The PS3 has 14 Pros and 3 Cons with a total of 11 "points." The Wii has 9 Pros and 2 Cons for a total of 7 "points". Obviously, you can see that there is a difference with points. However, if you were to add the price as a bigger factor, they would be just about tied. So basically, not counting price as a factor, the PS3 dominates, and it is the biggest bang for your buck, but the Wii is still great for its price. Those are just my opinions.

Again, my lack of experience with the Wii may have affected the turnout of this, and this is only one opinion, so do a bit more research before you spend that much money on ANYTHING.

I will hopefully do a PS3 vs. XBOX 360 in the future seeing that they are closer, but it will definitely be a close call, so I'll definitely have to do some research.

A Sansa Fuze is what I have and it's pretty much the same except it's smaller than a credit card (and I checked) and it has a built-in FM Radio and Voice Recorder. Plus, it comes in 2 GB, 4GB, and 8 GB, and if that's not enough, you can add up to 12 GB more memory with a MicroSD card, which, if put in an 8 GB Fuze, you get a total of 20 GB. You can also play videos and view photos on this thing. Now, of course, the new Nano-Chromatic iPods have an accelerometer, so if you're looking for that, I have no suggestions, but if you want something like the 3rd Generation iPod Nano, get a Fuze. Plus, I just checked the prices at Amazon.com and the 8 GB Fuze is about $50 cheaper than the 8 GB iPod Nano 3rd Generation

I used to have an iPod Shuffle...you know, one of the old, 512 MB ones...they looked like this:

Anyways, it was the cheapest one that was available and my dad wanted to get me an iPod, so he bought it for me. The only thing that sucked was when I wanted to play a certain song, I couldn't because it had no screen. At least with the Sansa Clip, there is a screen.

But there are, of course, the newer iPod Shuffles that are half the size and have cool features on their headphones and can "talk" to you (pic below), but those are about twice the cost of a sansa clip (with comparable memory on Amazon.com) and, in my opinion, the "talking to you" feature does seem like a pain in the butt. Of course, I don't own one so I wouldn't know, but I'd much rather have a screen than flip and flip and flip just to find a certain song, because that's what I used to do with my iPod shuffle.

I went to Wal-Mart just the other day and I saw these Sansa Clips. They look a lot bigger online than they really are. I could literally clench my fist around one. Plus, these ones at least have a screen if you ever do want to choose a certain song, and you can always put the shuffle mode on.

Want an iPod Video/Classic?

Try a Sansa View

Now, if you want an iPod Classic/Video for it's memory, then get it, but if you want it for its screen, I'd suggest a Sansa View. The Sansa view comes in 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB of memory and can hold up to 8 GB more of memory in a MicroSD card, so you can get up to 40 GB of memory out of your Sansa View. Now, I can't compare the prices of these two because they don't come in the same memory increments, but I can almost guarantee you that if they did, the Sansa View would come out as less expensive.

And then there are Zunes...

...but those are still waaaaaay more expensive than Sansas.

And there are also iPod imitations...

...but I'm not gonna go there...you know what those are. I've seen some iPod imitations that could easily deceive one, so don't go there until you know more about it. I tend to be very picky when spending money...you can thank my parents for that, but I don't regret it.

I'll tell you about some other brands and options in disparity to the iPod in terms of price in another post, but for now, check out http://www.Sansa.com to see their players and prices. I got my Sansa Fuze from http://www.ToysRUs.com because it was cheapest there, but you can also try http://www.NewEgg.com.

There are other brands of MP3 players though, so don't buy an iPod just yet...there are a lot of better options.

Now, the only product that I'm recommending here that I have tried is the Sansa Fuze, and I love it, so I'm guessing all the other Sansa products are great, too.

P.S: I don't hate iPods. They're great...if you have the money for them. These are just suggestions for people like me who want more affordable options.

How to Download Any Song for FREE!!!

Using just two websites, you can download any song for free.

First thing is to go to http://www.Real.com and download Realplayer, either the free version or Realplayer Plus. If you already have RealPlayer, just go to the website and download it just to ensure you have the latest version. Don't worry...as long as you don't actually uninstall RealPlayer, none of your files will be gone; it will just upgrade you. Now go to http://www.Playlist.com and type in the song and artist (if necessary) and click Search.

Now it'll look like this:

Now click on the Play button on one of the songs and make sure it's the right song. When it's playing, it should look like this:

If you'll notice, right above the playlist, it has a small gray icon with blue text that says Download This Clip. If it doesn't, you might have to mouse over the playlist. Now click Download This Clip and it should open a window that looks like this:

Once it's downloaded, it's automatically saved into your RealPlayer library. If you don't use RealPlayer as your main player (like me), it may automatically save into your other media player. If not, right click the song in RealPlayer and then click Open File Location. Now it should find your file and all that's left to do is drag it into whatever media player you prefer.

How to Get Files from your iPod (or any MP3 Player)

So let's say you got a new computer and you want to add all the music from your MP3 Player into your library. Here's how you do it:

First of all, make sure that when you plug your iPod in, it does NOT automatically sync to whatever media player you are using...otherwise ALL your music will be deleted.

First, go to My Computer and open your iPod's folder.

Now, when you open your iPod folder, it will probably look something like this:

Obviously, your files aren't in any of those. What you need to do is go to Tools (for Vista users you will need to press Alt, then click Tools) and click Folder Options...

Then go to the View tab. It should look like this:

Now, under Files and Folders --> Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders, then OK

Now when you open your iPod folder, it will probably look like this:

Now double-click whatever file was not there before (for Vista users, the folder image will look a little faded from the others; in my case, the folder is called iPod_Control) and it will look like this:

Now double-click music and Voilà! There are all your music files:

Now all that's left to do is drag them straight into iTunes or whatever player you are using and synchronize all your music. Have fun!!!
